We are at the beginning of a technological revolution. What is your strategy

William Kristensen

We are currently in the midst of a technological revolution, with AI rapidly developing and becoming more accessible than ever before. This technology is no longer reserved for large companies in Silicon Valley, but is becoming a key factor for businesses of all sizes. As AI continues to shape society and business, it's essential that companies develop a strategy to leverage its potential.

Recent milestones in AI development, such as the launches of ChatGPT, DALLE-e, and GPT-4, have led to the wide spread availability of AI technology and it has gained a lot of attention. The advances in AI have made it easier than ever to use AI tools and develop solutions based on the technology. With AI as a catalyst, businesses can optimize operations, solve complex problems, and create innovative opportunities.

The rapid development of AI technology has been driven by increasing amounts of data, better machines, and new research. It is now easier than ever to use AI tools and develop solutions based on the technology. With AI as a catalyst, businesses of all sizes can optimize operations, solve complex problems, and create innovative opportunities. AI is no longer reserved for large companies in Silicon Valley.

The possibilities of AI are vast. Language models, for instance, can write code, create creative and professional texts, conduct analyses, and come up with business strategies and marketing ideas. A survey by Fishbowl has shown that as many as 43 percent of American white-collar workers use chatbots daily to solve various work tasks. Enabling employees to explore and use this type of technology in their work is not only wise but also necessary.

Put employees at the center of development

However, it's important to ensure that employees are at the center of development. Limiting how people can use AI technology, as JPMorgan Chase and Italian authorities have done, is outdated and a poor strategy if businesses want to remain relevant in the future. Instead, businesses should have a strategy and policy that enables employees to explore new technology, not just to solve work tasks in a smarter and more efficient way, but also to generate new ideas that can create a competitive advantage.

While AI offers a lot of potential, it's important to approach its use with a conscious and ethical mindset. Businesses need to prioritize issues related to privacy, ethics, and information reliability. Web-based AI services, such as ChatGPT, are in a gray area when it comes to GDPR and Schrems-II legislation. Therefore, businesses must ensure that they are compliant with all relevant regulations and policies to protect customer data and privacy. It's also important to note that AI technology is not perfect, and language models like ChatGPT can make mistakes. Therefore, it's essential to approach AI with a critical eye and not solely rely on it for important decisions.

Develop an AI strategy today!

As a leader, you should already be exploring how AI will impact your business. Whether a company wants to use AI in operations, logistics, or in the development of personalized digital services, one should consider that pre-trained chatbot models are available and can be customized with their own data to suit their business needs.

These models can be uploaded and used on their own servers or cloud services and made available in their own interfaces. This way, GDPR is complied with, the models are customized to the company's needs, allowing them to safely build internal and external services, products, and solutions that are based on AI. Creativity and imagination set the limits, not the technology.

In summary:

  • All companies should have a strategy for leveraging AI.
  • AI has never been more accessible and easier to work with. Use cases are more about imagination and creativity than technological possibilities.
  • Access to and control of one's own data has never been more important.
  • Start small. Not everything needs to be solved at once; the most important thing is to get started.

We are at the beginning of a technological revolution. How far have you come with your AI strategy?
